Preliminary remark This Guideline may be used to conduct a hygienic assessment of organic materials in contact with drinking water. This Guideline replaces the Second Communication of the KTW Recommendations [1] and the KTW Recommendations for the plastics polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene and acetal resins. It includes the adjusted conversion factors for the different uses of these products as set forth in the EAS proposal [2]. These may be used by the test laboratory to calculate the relevant test values.
