It reflects changes in the nominal diameters of gages 45 and smaller and extends the tables to 56 gage. The changed diameters and extended range were established in 1961 by the Committee on Wires for Electrical Conductors of the American Society for Testing and Materials and were published as ASTM Standard B258-61. They have also been approved as American Standard C7.36-1961 by the American Standards Association. To
