By combining quantitative approach and qualitative approach, by combining the parallel characteristics of effect upon society and economic benefits of the competitive sports, being professional and amateur in competitive sports; with humanistic principle and on-going development principle as its guidance, this study aims to carry out an initial construction and study on the social evaluation of the competitive sports. It mainly includes: 1) the detailed description of the formation and development of social evaluation theory; 2) a brief account of the current situation of competitive sports in our country; 3) the necessity of building social evaluation theory of competitive sports; 4) the illustration of building the theoretical basis and methods of the social evaluation of the competitive sports; 5) the proposal of the concept of the social evaluation of the competitive sports, the analysis of the characteristics and principles of the competitive sports; 6) the proposal of the two social evaluation
