Study on Uplink Channel Estimation for DFT-S OFDM System HaoYue ，Yang Dacheng Wireless Research Center ，Beijing University Of Posts Telecommunications ，Beijing （100876 ） E-mail：Helena0620@ Abstract DFT-Spread OFDM (DFT-S OFDM), known as frequency-domain generation of the single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA), is an uplink transmission scheme of Evolved UTRA LTE. Our research mainly discusses the channel estimation of the DFT-Spread OFDM system based on different design of pilot signals, including FDM(Frequency Division Multiplexing) and CDM(Code Division Multiplexing) pilot multiplexing. Since the FDM method has been discussed elaborately in several contributions already and fully accepted, this paper focuses on the design of pilot employing CDM and corresponding channel estimation method. It can be concluded from our analysis and discussion that the advantage of CDM multiplexing scheme lies in two aspects: on one hand, it is appropriate in frequency scheduling based on channel; on the other hand, it outperforms FDM at the cell edge owing to less interference. And although the computation load of CDM multiplexing is slightly larger than that of FDM, it is still acceptable in uplink transmission. Keywords ：DFT-Spread OFDM ，CDM，channel estimation，uplink 1.
