T hen the karyotyp e and the distribution of chromatin of Ar i st ichthys nobilis were studied . The results show ed that the chr omosome number of diploid was 4 8 and the kar yotype formula is 30M+ 14SM+ 2 ST+ 2T . The well2propor tioned fluorescence brightness was detected in interphase nucleus, which indicated that the heter ochromatin distribution in interphase nucleus was relatively symmetr ical. But the br ight regions lied on the short arm of chromosome 1 and 4, and they distr ibuted at the centromere of t he other chromosomes.
