Conceptdesignof82000DWTBulkCarrierAbstractThesubjectofthisgraduationdesignistheschematicdesignofa82000-tonbulkproductcarrier.Whatthedesignermainlyconsidersisthepracticabilityoftheshipandtheeconomicalpointofview,wetriedtoreducethecostoftheshipconstruction.Thewholedesignprocesscoversmostoftheknowledgewhichthedesignerhasgainedfromundergraduatetaughtcourses.Thedesignprocesscanbedividedintosixmajorpartsasfollows:1.Fixtheprincipaldimensionsoftheshipinaccordancewiththedesignspecificationandthencheckthecapability.Inordertoselectoptimalschematic,thedesignerhastakenthreemethodsintoaccountandchosetheoptimaloneaftercomparison.Furthermore,themaincharacteristicsoftheshiparepreliminarilychecked.2.Designthelinesoftheunder-waterpartoftheshipusingthemethodof“1-Cp”,whiletheup-waterpartisdesignedwiththemethodof“Self-design”tocorrespondtotheunder-waterpart.Therequirementsofthelinesofthesternmustbeconsideredinordertoeasilyarrangeascrewpropellerandarudderbehindthestern.3.Consultsimilarshipstogoalongwiththegeneralarrangement.Tomaketheshiptoworknormallyandseamentolivecomfortably,itisnecessarytoarrangeeverycabinandvariousrelatedequipmentproperly.Theframespaceandthenumberofbulkheadsaredeterminedbycorrespondingrules.4.Accordingtolinegragh,wecancalculatethehydrostaticcurve.CalculationofHydrostaticsandStability.Inthecalculationofhydrostaticandstability,thedesignerobtainsthehydrostaticscurves.Theinitialstabilityforthefourtypicalloadingconditions,i.e.fully-loadedarrival,fully-loadeddeparture,ballast-loadedarrivalaswellasballast-loadeddepartureareallcheckedbasedonthecorrespondingrules.5.DesignaMAU-5typeofscrewpropellerusingthemethodof“Draftdesign”.Ensurethecooperationoftheship,mainframeandthescrewinordertoenhancethevelocitycapabilityoftheshipdesigned.6.Designthestructureofcargoholdundertherulesof“RulesFortheClassificationofSea-goingsteelships(2006)”.Itisnecessarytoreducethecostofshipconstructiononthepremiseofmeetingthestrengthdemands.Generralyspeaking,thegraduationprojectisabulkcarrierdesignastheba
