Unit4 The Rescue (reading)
Hello, everyone. Today I am very pleased to have an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas. My topic is reading part, The Rescue, taken from Senior English for China book 1A Unit 4, Unforgettable Experiences, and my idea is made up of five parts, my understanding of this lesson, the teaching methods, the teaching procedure, Blackboard design, and teaching assessment. First, let me talk about my understanding of this lesson.
Part 1 My understanding of this lesson
This part consists of three aspects: The analysis of the teaching material, Teaching Aims, Teaching Important Points and Difficult Point.
1 The analysis of the teaching material:
This lesson is a reading one, reading is one of the most important items in English learning. And it plays an important part in the English teaching of this unit. By studying this Lesson, Students can improve their reading ability. Learn to describe people, things, events and people’s feelings and learn some knowledge of natural disasters.
2 Teaching Aims:
1. Knowledge aim: master the news words and useful expressions in the text, and got its main idea.
2. Ability aim: train and improve students’ reading and speaking ability. Learn how to organize ideas in a text using the words of First, Next, Then, and Finally.
3. Emotional aim: know some knowledge of natural disasters and how to rescue themselves if natural disasters happened.
3 Teaching Important Points:
1. Master the useful words and phrases appearing in this period.
Like: seize, drag, destroy, fight for, hold onto, get on one’s feet, go down, fall down, cut down
2. Learn to organize ideas in this text by using the words of First, Next, Then, and Finally.
Teaching Difficult Point:
Use your own words to retell the text and use the words of First, Next, Then, and Finally.
Part 2 Teaching methods and aids
