Along with our country tourism has developed rapidly, modern tourists choose lake and river scenic area for the destination and take a cruise ships to travel has become a kind of fashion. Big golden lake original 120-seat excruise vessel capacity cannot satisfy the needs of increasing passenger, in order to improve the capacity, it is necessary to design a new ship. In this paper, main content in preliminary design process include the argument of principal dimensions, the general layout design, line design, static hydraulic calculation and cross section structural design. This design according to the requirement of the specification, has selected a mother ship as the foundation, determined the feasible scheme of the new vessel preliminary, and checked the new ship main performance. In the design process, the Excel software was applied to calculate the static hydraulic, and the AutoCAD software was applied to draw the general layout, drawing lines, hydrostatic curves and typical cross section figure.
