This paper will focus on one of the conditions for Second Language Learning----motivation and its influence on SLA. The outcome of foreign and second language learning are strongly affected by learners’ motivation which falls in two categories, integrative and instrumental. Others less influential motivational theories contribute to our understanding of motivation as well. Lots of researches have been done on this issue and the researchers have proposed their own reviews and interpretations. The following paper will aim at analyzing the influences of both internal motivation variables and external motivation variables upon foreign language learning.
