Abstract Recently．alarge．scaleOrdovicianoilandgaspoolhasbeendiscoveredinXinken．northoftheTarim
Basin，andithasstronglyheterogeneousreservoirsnadcomplicatedfluiddistribution．Throughanalyzingoil，gas
andwatersamplescollectedfrom thisarea，incombinationoffieldproductionandtestingdata，thisstudyreveals
thattheXinkenoilpoolcontainsdominantlynormaloilchraacterizedbylow viscosity，low sulphur，andhighwax．It
hasalow contentofnaturalgas．whichpresentstypicalcharacteristicsofwetgasnadisoil—associatedgas．Oil—gas
correlationshowsthattheoilwasfrom theMiddle—UpperOrdoviciansourcerocksandthechragena daccumulation
OfonandgastookplaceintheLateHercynianPeriod．Controlledbypaleogeomorphology，sedimentaryfacies，an-
cientkarstification，faults，nadotherfactorsintheCaledonianPeriod，theOrdoviciancarbonatereservoirsaredomi—
natedbydissolvedpores。cavitiesandfractures．ThereservoirbodVofrfacturesandcavitiesisdisrtibutedinthe
shapeofstripandlaminatealongfaultsna dexcellentreservoirsraemostlyintherangeof70-100m below thetop
oftheY~iianfangFomration．Asawhole．theXinkenoilpoo1isarfacture．cavitypoo1conrtolledbyinterbeddedkarst
reservoirsandisacomplexcomposedofstackedkarstrfacturesandcavitiesofvarioussizes．Itcontainsoilinlarge
raeashorizontally．w
