To note any declarations of interest on items to be discussed at this meeting There were no declarations To approve the minutes of the Council Meeting held on 18th February 2013 Resolved: The minutes of the meeting of 18th February 2013 were accepted as a true record. To receive a report from the Police PCSOs were present and reported on the following: - Theft of GHD straighteners from hairdressers was a problem Thefts involving snapping of locks – police recommending snap-proof locks, for which leaflets were circulated. Chris Wilkins, RMBC Development Manager to discuss enforcement complaint re: Salon 1927, Bawtry Road Mr Wilkins spoke on the above. Councillors asked for guidance regarding what signage required permission and what signage was acceptable. Mr Wilkins said that there was no clear guidance other than the detailed Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 2007, and so planners assessed each situation on merit including matters of amenity, highway safety etc. Planners were generally more lenient on development / applications where they fell within existing commercial frontages. It was suggested the Council look at the planning report recommendations to understand why an application was recommended. Failing that, Mr Wilkins invited the Council to contact him for clarification.
