Key Lab of Geophysical Exploration under CNPC, University of Petroleum, Beijing 102200, China) Abstract:T ime lapse seismic forw ard modeling, which links reservoir numerical simulation with seismic modeling via rock physics property transformation, is the main means for the feasibility study of reservoir monitoring. This paper in troduces the different steps involved in time lapse seismic forward modeling, including establishment of initial geological model, reservoir simulation, transformation of rock physics properties and synthesis of seismic response. The method w as testified on theoretical models.
