Unit 7 Business Correspondence Letter of Order a promise to purchase a specified quantity of commodities after the exchange of many letters, faxes, or e-mails. agrees to place a formal order. sometimes take an initiative by placing a firm order with the seller. A letter of order should include: detailed description of commodity: names, sizes, colors, catalogue numbers, model numbers, article numbers or any other relevant information; detailed trade terms: unit price, quantity, quality, payment, shipment, packing, etc. A letter of acknowledgement should include: pleasure at receiving the order; favorable comment on the commodity ordered; assurance of prompt and careful attention; other products likely to be of interest; hope for further orders.
