The Quality Study on the Toxic Chinese Traditional Medicine Euphorbiae Semen from Different Habitats Speciality: pharmacognosy Author: Ci qianqian Tutor:Li yingxia Abstract Objective: To evaluate the quality of Euphorbiae Semen and to ensure the safety, rationality and efficiency of the toxic Chinese traditional medicines, by a series of studies including morphological identification, microscopical identification of powder , TLC-identification and quantitative determination of the purgative principles and the effective constituents in Euphorbiae Semen and to supply the science methods for the control of quality of Euphorbiae Semen. Methods: Ten batchs of Euphorbiae Semen from six different habitats including Nanyang and Sheqi in Henan, Yunnan, Xinjiang, Bozhou in Anhui and Guangxi were collected. Morphological identification method and microscopical identification of powdered method were employed to identificaty ten batchs of Euphorbiae Semen. TLC-identification of aesculetin euphorbiasteroid and lathyrol diadetate benzozte and SDSidentification of kernel protein in Euphorbiae Semen were used. The contents of water, ash, extract, rancidity of oil and quantitative determination of fatty oil in Euphorbiae Semen were also determined. The contents of fatty acids, total coumarin, aesculetin, euphorbiasteroid and lathyrol diadetate benzozte were analyzed respectively by GC-MS, UV and HPLC.
