Project Definition
Background and scope of the project
In Alaj?rvi Panel manufacturing happened only in new line since February 2010.
There has been many bottlenecks in rampup face and most worrying has been big amount of waste, which causes losses in Profit.
There fore several OPEX projects started to ensure positive development in Panel manufacturing. Most important were “Panle line availability improvement” and “Panel line waste reduction”. The last one is presented in this document.
The waste (second rate, scrap, the ends of the coil) from panel line have increase rapidly since the new panel line was taken into use, also the waste of glue is not followed at all. Because the production line is not stable yet, the waste and second-quality has arisen. The extra production must be done (compensation of the waste). The utilization rate of the line is not yet on target level.
