Introduction 1.1 Document Overview This document is designed to give objective guidelines for integrating collections or services with DLSI (digital library service integration). The user guide contains the following sections: Section 1: This section will give a brief overview of the DLSI architecture and interactions between the major components. The subsection ‘Introduction to the Engine’ describes the interaction between the enginelets and they dynamic hypermedia engine. Section 2: This section covers the installation and configuration of the engine. It covers the system requirements for installation, configuration of start-up and properties files. It also addresses frequently encountered installation and configuration problems. Section 3: This section discusses the concepts related to developing an enginelet. It discusses URL format and handling in the enginelet, the major classes and interfaces that used by the enginelet, and identifying ‘elements of interest’ in a document. Section 4: This section deals with mapping rules.
