Study on general medical thoughts of Qian Jin Fang Specialty : The Medical History and Literature of TCM Author : Xie Fang Tutor : professor Ouyang Bing Abstract General medicine is the outcome of development of modern medicine, the appearance of which makes up for the deficiency of specialty medicine, helps to transform the medical model, and has made great contribution to the development of primary health services in all countries. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) originated from primary health services, and general medicine is one of its important characteristics in academy and service model. By means of studying the literature concerning Qian Jin Fang, this study is to explore the thoughts of general medicine in TCM, to take advantage of and integrate the philosophy and approaches in general medicine, to further enrich and improve the unique feature of general medicine, and to lay a solid foundation for the framework of the completely new discipline-general medicine in TCM. By comparing the different medical theories between general medicine and TCM and tracing the cultural foundation and theoretical background of the general medical thoughts in TCM, this study is to explore the characteristics and advantages of the general medical thoughts in TCM. With Qian Jin Fang as the research object, this study employs the traditional literature approaches and systemizes the literature with the thoughts of general medicine. The features of the study are as follows: 1) exploring the general medical thoughts in the literature in Sui and Tang dynasties and the time prior to that, the key of which is to “discuss” to form the viewpoint; 2) analyzing the general medicinal thoughts in TCM literature in Sui and Tang dynasties with Qian Jin Fang as a representative, the key of which is to “state” to explore such thoughts.
