Clinical Study on Treatment of Amblyopia in older by the Prescription of Shimingyin Ⅱ Speciality: Ophthalmology of Traditional Chinese Medicine Graduate: Li Shixiang Tutor: Prof.Zheng Xinqing Abstract Objective: This present research observed and analyzed the curative effectiveness of the prescription of shimingyin Ⅱ for older visually impaired, and summarized the rule to discuss the mechanism for the purpose of providing more methods in clinical research. Methods: 23 cases (34 eyes) invalid visually impaired older patients by classical therapeutic methods of western medicine were observed in the curative effectiveness by the mean of basic prescription of shimingyin Ⅱ on addition and subtraction, combining with the refractive correction and amblyopia cover training therapy and so on, Two months was a course of treatment, and the average time was 2.5 course. Results: The efficiency rate was 50.00%, of which mild amblyopia was optimum at the rate of 56%, and the moderate amblyopia minor at 46.67%, and the severe amblyopia worst at 33.33%; whil the efficiency of ametropia amblyopia. was 66.67%, and the anisometropic amblyopia and strabismic amblyopia was 61.54% and 25.00%. 9 to 10 years old patient’s cure rate was 35.29%, the rest was 23.53%. Conclusion: It was more efficiency to cure amblyopia in older using the prescription of Shimingyin Ⅱ on addition and subtraction with the traditional therapy. It was extrapolated that its treatment mechanism correlated with the effect of Chinese medicine, which can increase the ocular blood supply, improve support to retina and promote further development of macular and improve visual acu
