  Clinical Observation on Treatment of Gastric Cough by Xinkaikujiang method Speciality: internal medicine of TCM Author: DING Ming-sheng Tutor: Professor CHEN Xian-hai Abstract Objective: Explore the application of Xinkaikujiang method in the gastric cough treatment, expanding the traditional sense of Xinkaikujiang method and its clinical significance applications, with expecting better guidance on clinical medication and curative effect evaluation of chronic cough. Research Methods: Selected 60 cases meeting the clinic study standard, and divided them into treatment group (30 cases) and control group (30 cases) randomly. The treatment group was given Banxiaxiexin Decoction and Cough Powder. The control group was given Omeprazole Sodium Enteric-coated Capsules and ASMETON(Compound Methoxyphenamine Capsules) treatment. The courses are for 12 weeks. The changes of treatment group and control group symptom scores before and after treatment were observed. Results: Clinical study shows that after treatment the patients’ symptom scores are lower than before significantly, and the difference was statistically significant (P0.05). Total effective rate for the treatment group is 90%, and that of control group is 73.3%, statistically significant different in analysis of p0.05. The treatment of the group of traditional Chinese medicine is safe and has non-toxic side effects. Conclusion: Clinically, gastric cough is usually misdiagnosed.
