Methods A total of 100 patients(ASAI～II)undergoing elective surgery were randomly divided into 2 groups according to age differenceGroup I(elderly) and Group II(non-elderly).The two groups were then divided into 4 subgroups：rocuronium(I1,II1),cisatracutium 2ED95 group(I2,II2), cisatracutium 3ED95 group(I3,II3) cisatracutium 4ED95 group(I4,II4) .Neuromuscular blocking effects were monitored using Biometer accelograph. Train-of-four (TOF, with 0.2ms square wave at frequency of 2 Hz, every 12s) stimulation was applied. The onset time, duration of TOF’s unavailability, times to T1 recovered to 25%, 50%, 75% and recovery index were noted. Results The onset and duration by cisatracurium injection were little but not significantly longer in elderly patients than those in non-elderly patients (P0.05). The pharmacodynamic recovery parameters by rocuronium injection in elderly patients were significantly longer than those in non-elderly patients (P0.05). Significant differences were noted in the onset between I4,II4 groups and I2,II2 groups(P0.05).The duration of TOF’s unavailability and times to T1 recovered to 25%,50%,75% of I3,II3 and I4 ,II4 groups were significantly longer than those of I2 and II2 groups(P0.05).The recovery index of cisatracurium in each group were not different. Conclusion Aging has no influence on the pharmacodynamics of single injection of cisatracurium, while it influences the single injection of rocuronium. 【key words】C
