It is proposed tha t the sem i rig id b ase o f asph alt p avem ent eas ily resu lting in reflective crack ing m ay be due to the th in layer of aspha lt, the low stiffness of asph alt surface and the high s iffness o f b ase. The in fluence o f the ch ange o f b ases compressive modu lu s on the fatigu e life o f as ph a lt pavem ent is mo re signif icant than th at of the change of surfaces com pressive m odu lu s on. T he asph a lt p avem ent fa tigue life has enhanced greatly w ith the increase of sur faces thickness.
