Build up Ss ’ confidence in speaking in English Emotion aims: To be aware that the significance of cloning is to break medical limitation so as to benefit human beings 2. Teaching key point and difficult point Teaching key points: 1. The definition of cloning and its benefits and drawbacks 2. Developing students’ different reading skills especially scanning for key words Teaching difficult points: 1. Method of word guessing 2. To analyze the structure of an exposition 3. Teaching and learning approach 1. Task-based teaching approach 2. Student-centered teaching approach 3. Communicating and cooperating learning approaches 4. Teaching aids a projector and some slides. 5. Teaching procedures Step I Lead-in Lead in the topic by watching a video and ask students what is the video about. Step II Pre-reading 1). Predict what the passage is about according to the title 2). Students check their guesses and skim for the main idea of the passage Main idea: animal cloning raised arguments and scientists are not sure about its future Step III While-reading 1). Match the main idea with each paragraph Para. 1 Introduction/Definition Para. 2 Uses and procedure Para. 3 Problems of Dolly Para. 4 Impact of Dolly Para. 5 Different attitudes to human cloning Then Raise a question: What type of article is it?
