Teaching procedure:
Step 0ne
1. Let the students listen to a piece of music, then make a dialog like this:
T: Do you like the music?
Ss: yes, I do.
T: Would you like to listen to some beautiful music with me?
Ss: We’d like to
T: OK, let’s go to the concert.
Write the word “concert” on the blackboard, and then teach the students to spell it. And explain the meaning.
2. Play the tape of the song My Heart Will Go On and then ask:
T: Is the music beautiful?
Ss: Yes, it is.
T: Do you know who sings the song?
Ss: Yes, I do. Her name is Celine Dion.
T: Yes. And she is my favorite singer. Boys and girls, I have a piece of good news to tell you. Celine Dion will have a concert. Would you like to go to the concerts?
Ss: Yes. We’d like to.
T: OK. When and where is she going to give the concert, do you know?
Ss: No.
T: Today we’ll learn Unit 3 Topic 2 What sweet music! Section A. Now let’s listen to the tape and you’ll find the answer to the questions.
(1) What is Sally going to do this Sunday evening?
(2) Is Jack going to the concert? Why?
(3)Where and when is she going to give the concert?
3. Play the tape twice and then check the answer.
4. Read 1a and find out the exclamtion sentences.
Eg: How exciting!
And it sounds beatiful!
Oh, wonderful!
That’s too bad!
Step two
1. Work in pairs and practice the dialogue in 1a.
2. Let the students make a dialog by thenselves, using the words given below
