ITeaching Aims
A. Knowledge and Skills
a. Enable the Ss to learn some words and expressions about arts;
b. Enable the Ss to understand the passage;
c. To improve the Ss’ reading ability.
B. Process and Method
To improve the Ss’ reading ability, have the Ss complete some tasks, such as fast-reading, careful-reading, pair work, etc.
C. Attitude , Value and Emotion.
To improve the ability to appreciate painting, and develop the Ss’ interests in painting.
IIMain Point
To understand the passage and learn about several artists and several kinds of arts.
IIIDifficult Point
To develop the Ss’ ability to grasp and handle information and to analyse and solve problems through reading.

V Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Warming up
Warming up by showing some paintings and discussing with the students
1) Do you like traditional Chinese arts using brush and ink?
2) Which one do you prefer?
设计意图:This activity is to spark the Ss’ interest in painting.
Step 2: Pre-reading
1. Introduce some new words
Show the following new words from the text and ask the students to read them all together twice, correcting their pronunciation while they read each word.
