Abstract
Ethnic Culture, which is the working production of every ethnic group in its
long-term life and work, possesses the material advantages on curriculum
development in ethnic regions. In ethnic minority regions, how to develop and use the
ethnic curriculum resources to promote the ethnic children to develop scientifically
and healthily has become an urgent need to be addressed. This study selected the
teachers in nine Hui and Tibetan kindergartens in Tianzhu County in Gansu Province,
Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. etc as the object, used questionnaires, interviews,
documents and other research methods to investigate the status of the development
and utilization of the ethnic culture curriculum resources in northwest ethnic regions
of China, hoping to put forward recommendations for reference on the development
of the ethnic culture curriculum resources.
The study found that the majority of kindergartens have carried out the
development and utilization of ethnic culture, which are mainly the adopting ethnic
language and part of ethnic culture and are implemented by means of designing ethnic
language curriculum of kindergarten as well as infiltrating in classes by teachers. The
study also found that the existence of the following questions on development of the
ethnic culture curriculum resources: most of the ethnic culture curriculum resources
are in idle state; The teachers lack the comprehensive knowledge and ability to
develop the curriculum resources; The development of the ethnic culture curriculum
resources is short of the external support, the management system, and the parents,
community participation. This study holds that the reasons for the above problems are
as follows: ignoring the role of promotion of the ethnic culture curriculum resources
