Step 1 Lead in
Greet students as usual.Then ask:Do you like sports(运动)?Ss:Yes,I do.
Enjoy a video about playing ball games.Before watching the video,I ask students to pay attention to all kinds of ball games.While watching the video,students say the name of each ball game.(设计思路:通过谈论关于运动的话题,观看一段关于播放球类运动的视频,导入新课,激发学生的学习兴趣。)
Step 2 Presentation
Learn new words.Show the pictures of baseball,baseball bat,basketball,soccer ball,tennis ball,volleyball,ping-pong ball and ping-pong bat on the screen.Ask questions like this:
T:What’s this in English?(Point to the picture of a baseball)
S:It’s a baseball.
T:Spell it,please.
S:B-A-S-E-B-A-L-L,baseball.
Teach other words with the same approach.Students repeat after the teacher several times.Then show the pictures of ball games on the screen one by one,ask students to say each name in English.
Play a game.Have a word competition.Show different pictures.See who can say it quickly and correctly.(设计思路:通过图片教授生词,直观形象,学生易于接受。在学习bat这个单词时,教师指出元音字母a的发音,强调它的中文含义:球棒、球拍。然后集中复现这些图片让学生巩固所学单词,为后面的对话练习做铺垫。)
