1 Study on the characters of Environment-Resources for Anqing Wetland Along the Yangtze River Abstract As a unique eco-system on the earth as well as a sort of important national resource, wetland not only provides various kinds of resources for people’s production and life, but also exerts its enormous environmental adjustment functions and eco-benefits, and is now receiving more and more attention from around the world since resources are lacking urgently in today society. Lakes and wetlands along the Yangtze River in Anqing are the most centrally distributed wetlands in Anhui Province, as well as an important lake group linking to the Yangtze River. Both the rich wetland resources and favorable eco-environment contribute to the migrating passageway for some rare transients and waterfowls and the ideal place for them to live through the winter. Using RS and GIS techniques as the major study method, this thesis attempts to analyze the present resource condition and environmental features of wetlands along the Yangtze River in Anqing, disclose their function and their evolutional trends within the recent 40 years, and explore the reasons for their temporal and spatial dynamic evolution by making specific analysis on two lakes whose wetlands have degenerated greatly with the help of landscape spatial structure index. The analysis indicates that people’s activities are the major influential factors in the recent evolution process of lakes and wetlands. In terms of wetlands in Anqing, people’s influential factors refer to the excessive reclamation of land, building of dykes and sluice gates, as well as breeding aquatics.
