指导学生答卷,学生完成后当场回收问卷。由于被调查的学生高度配合,本 次调查共发出问卷85份,回收80份,回收率为94%。其中男生33份(占 总人数41.25%),女生47份(占总人数58.75%)总体年龄在9岁到1l岁 之间,80名学生中零基础(一句中文或一个中文词语也不会说)的有18人; 入门级(会说“你好,“早上好”)的有58人,有简单对话能力的有4人。 所有题目的有效率均为100%。 关键词:需求分析;问卷调查;美国公立小学;中文学习;外语 ⅡI ABSTRACT This paper shows the results of a Chinese as foreign language learning needs analysis that conducted in a U.S.public elementary sch001.The general theories and methods of need analysis for second language teaching are also reviewed. Using the HutchinsonWaters needs analysis theoretical framework,the author designed a questionnaire of the Chinese learning need analysis for the 4th and 5th grade students in the McCornack Elementary school in Eugene,Oregon, USA.The survey issued a total of 85 questionnaires,while 80 of them returned with a recovery rate of 94%.The students took the survey are 4 1%male and 59%female,and they are all 9 to 1 1 years old.In the 80 surveyed students,1 8 have no knowledge in Chinese,58 are at the Chinese entry—level(say”Hello”, ”Good morning”),and 4 are at the conversation level.All topics in the survey are valid.The Survey was taken in January 20 1 3 in the classroom.The questionnaires were all returned on the spot. This study attempts to answer the following typical questions for Chinese teaching as a foreign language:What’S the current status of Chinese teaching for primary school students in the US?How’S the students’willingness to learn Chinese?What are the motivafions for them to learn Chinese?How are the arrangements for Chinese learning contents,time settings?What are the teacher’S teaching methods and what are the assessment methods? The work done in this paper may provide references for the graduate school in China with a curriculum of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.For the students in this area,this paper may also be helpful for them to learn the Chinese teaching environment in the United States.
