Tokyo Ghoul Tokyo Ghoul is a manga(日本漫画) series by Sui?Ishida?[石田翠(いしだ スイIt was serialized in?Shueisha(英集社)?s?seinen?manga magazine?Weekly Young Jump（周刊Young Jump）?between September 2011 and September 2014 and has been collected in fourteen?tankōbon（单行本）?volumes as of August 2014. It was set in overhead world of modern Tokyo, and it describes a type of monster called “ghoul” who live on human flesh. This work is classified as dark fantasy, and also contains elements of science fantasy. Plot The story follows Ken Kaneki（金木研）, a college student who meets a woman named Rize Kamishiro（神代利世） at Anteiku（安定区）, a coffee shop. They share an interest in literature and plan a date. While walking Rize home, Ken is attacked by her. Rize reveals that she is a?ghoul, a human-like creature that hunts and devours human flesh. As she is about to finish him off, she is crushed by a falling platform（平台）. Kaneki is taken to the hospital in critical condition. The doctor decides to transplant Rizes organs into Ken. He then must deal with life as a half-human/half-ghoul, including interacting with ghoul society and its conflicting factions, while striving to keep his identity secret from other humans. Characters Introduction Main Characters Ken Kaneki金木 研（かねき　けん） The protagonist of?Tokyo Ghoul, he is a 19 year old university freshman, that receives an organ transplant from the ghoul Rize who was trying to kill him before she was knocked down by a fallen i-beam（I形梁. After the operation he develops ghoul like tendencies and characteristics, and his rationality（合理的行为） begins to wane. As one that is now both ghoul and human he struggles to keep his ghoul identity secret always fighting against his ghoul side while trying to continue to live like a normal human. He later works as a waiter for Anteiku （安定区）under Yoshimura（芳村）s guidance. After his fight with Amon（亚门） he gains the name Eye patch because of his masks design and becomes somewhat famous after a ghoul saw him defeating Amon. H
