MY HOMETOWN Anhui Province ----by Betsy The name——Anhui was the combination of Anqing and Huizhou in the ancient China. Anqing was in the north of the Yangze River and Huizhou was in the south of the Yangze River. Anhui is in the the middle east of China. With the area of 139.7 square kilometer, however,approximately it has the population of 68,620,000. Short Introduction 2012/3/28 Anhui consists of 16 cities in the present. They are called respectively Suzhou(宿州), Huaibei(淮北), Bozhou(亳州), Fuyang(阜阳), Bengbu(蚌埠), Chuzhou(滁州), Huainan(淮南), Luan(六安),Hefei(合肥), Maanshan(马鞍山), Wuhu(芜湖), Anqing(安庆), Tongling(铜陵), Xuancheng(宣城), Chizhou(池州) and Huangshan(黄山). Now,let’s go to my town- Shou Xian(寿县) Speaking to Shou Xian, many people may feel strange. But, if I said Shouchun or Shou Zhou. Maybe you will not be strange with there. Shou Xian is the capital of Chu Dynasty, she lies in the middle of Anhui province, and locates in the north of Huauhe River. Three Perspectives 1.history 2.scenic spots 3.food history Early in the Warring States period, 241 years BC ,Chu Dynasty have moved the capital to Shouxian County. In the past, people who were in the military or defense, for protecting our country ,they built varieties of wall in large or small, but with the loss of time, the ancient city wall was tear down mostly, then they can able to escape , also the ancient wall can be completely preserved is very few. But there is an ancient city wall in Huaihe lake, even through thousands of years, but fortunately escaped being destroyed completely preserved, which is in Shouxian County of Anhui. Scenic Spots 1) The Museum of Shou Xian It includs lots of relics about this ancient county. 2) Bao en Temple Now , it is very old , but there still are amounts of people to visit it for praying. 3) The number one pond in the world She is the location of “The number one pond in the world”---the An Feng Pond,which built by Sun Shuao.(孙叔敖) 2012/3/28 Food 1、 tofu
