Introduction to Suoyuan Village and Its Neighborhood in Lipu Town 申鹏云-翻译 虞乔涵-校对 Suoyuan village, in Lipu town of Jindong District, Jinhua, Zhejiang province is our activity base. Jindong District is one of the two districts in Jinhua. Lipu town, located in the east of Jinhua and 15 kilometers far from Jinhua urban area, is known as the most beautiful town in Zhejiang province, the nursery-grown hometown in China as well as the national ecological town. Suoyuan Village in Lipu town Suoyuan village, located in the northeast of Lipu town, is one of the habitations of Yan Ziling’s descendants and has a history of over 400 years since it was built in the Ming dynasty in the reign of emperor Wanli. The village is inhabited by 478 households with a population of over 1200. Featured with characteristics of the south ancient architecture, Suoyuan village has abundant cultural and humanistic resources and a large number of ancient buildings which were built in the Ming or Qing dynasty. In 2014, the village song Suoyuan, My Beautiful Hometown, eulogizing its new ethos and original looks, was sung around the province. Yan’s Ancestral Temple Named Dunlun hall, it is the largest ancient building in Suoyuan village. Built in the Qing dynasty in the reign of emperor Qianlong, it has a history of over 300 years. In 2003, it took on a new life after renovation. Moreover, it serves as an exhibition hall popularizing fine work style of village cadres in Jinhua and a culture center. The Meritorious Deeds House in the Exhibition Hall In the educational practice of mass line, Suoyuan village undertook the construction of the exhibition hall in order to promote fine work style of retired village cadres, show modern village cadres’ good spirits as well as encourage the incumbent cadres to develop in united efforts.
