Lesson 1 (1,2) Aims and demands: In this unit the pupils learn to understand: What is the wizard’s pet? In this unit the pupils learn to use: cat, dog, mouse, hamster, rabbit, budgie, frog, fish, Teaching Important and Difficult Points: The words of school things: cat, dog, mouse, hamster, rabbit, budgie The pronunciations of ‘hamster’, ‘budgie’ 3. Ss can know the written words of the target words. Teaching Aids: Pictures of pets; Word cards of them; A tape recorder; Teaching Process: Step 1: Warming up. Greetings: T: Good morning / afternoon, boys and girls. How are you today? 2. Review the sentence pattern: How many …s have you got? (Ask and answer between Ss and T.) Step 2: Presentation Lead in: A guessing game. T mimes all kinds of the sounds or actions of animals and Ss guess what it is. Sounds—dog, frog, cat, mouse Actions---fish, rabbit, hamster, budgie (When Ss say the right answer, T shows the picture and stick it on the Bb. Read and spell the words one by one.) Drill: Show the pictures with a cover on it. Open the window of the cover, we just can see one part of the picture and Ss guess what it is. T shows the word cards and Ss mimes the corresponding actins or the sounds. Practise in pairs. Step 3: Practice Open the books to P32, Part 2: Listen and find out the wizard’s pet. Check the answers by asking ‘ What’s the wizard’s pet? ’ (‘frog’) Copy the written words beside the pictures on their books. Step 4: Consolidation Step 5: Homework Copy the words 4 times. (Chinese once) Listen to the tape and say it 3 times. Blackboard design / Note: Lesson2 (3,4) Aims and demands: 1. Ss can say the chant: Have you got a pet? 2. Listen and tick to choose the animals which belongs to the kids. 3. Complete the sentences. Teaching Important and Difficult Points: Learn to say the sentences: Have you got pet? Yes, I have. What have you got? Write the written words of pets and colours. Teaching Aids:
