On Language Learning Ⅰ.Motivation and Attitude in English learning Motivation, simply speaking, means there is a clear aim at a kind of activity. Without a doubt, motivation is a second important feeling factor. It is a series of factors providing motive power and where to go for learners. Gardner and lumber divide the motivation to learn foreign language into two categories: integrative motivation and instrumental motivation. The former refers to learns have the special interest in the mass organizations of aim language and expect to participate the social living of the mass organizations; The later means learners are eager to realize the special purpose, such as, passing an examination and gaining a kind of position(束定芳,庄智象,2002). According to above categories, in our country except a small minority of English learners having the integrate motivation as a consequence of special family background or interest. Maybe a great majority of English learners have the instrumental motivation. A student is often heard to explain his low grade in English course. Teachers attempt to get their students motivated so that English learning will occur. This point of view argues that motivation is necessary for English learning; it doesn’t, of course, that learning will automatically occur, even if high motivation is present, of course, it is difficult to scientifically understand exactly how motivation enhances English learning and achievement. Ⅱ Ways of developing students’ feeling As we all know the classroom teaching is one of the important ways that the students learn English. As far as the English teaching is concerned, teachers have to arouse the students’ interest so that they may learn better. Furthermore, if teachers want to gain a good teaching effect, they not only have to have every class well but also must practice English on students’ own initiative.
