Abstract: The antimicrobial activity of the essential oil from leaves of Eucalyptus urophylla×Eucalyptus grandis (Guanglin 9) was studied. The essential oil was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method. The antimicrobial activity of oil was evaluated by using filter paper method and the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) was determined by plate dilution method. The main components of the essenti-al oil were 1,8-cineole(40.844%), followed by α-pinene (24.221%), α-terpineol(4.661%), α-terpinyl acetate(3.592%), borneol (2.762%), trans-pinocarveol (3.735%) and pinocarvone(1.978%). The results indicated that the essential oil had excellent antimicrobial activity against tested microorganisms. The effects of essential oil on antibacterial and antifungal activities differed obviously. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were 10,20,20,10,10 and 5 mL/L for Staphylococus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Aspergillus flavus,
