Abstract Vocabulary acquisition is the main task of learning a second language. Therefore, vocabulary teaching is a significant procedure in English teaching; effective vocabulary teaching plays an important role in learners’ learning. This thesis is mainly aiming at exploring the vocabulary learning strategies used by the sampled students and providing several vocabulary teaching and learning methods. It is hoped that the learners can employ effective vocabulary learning strategies to improve their vocabulary learning. The thesis aims to offer help for both English teachers and beginners in junior school.
