学Unit ’t eat in class.
Period 1 New words
Teaching and Learning Goals:
Learn to read the new words in this unit and know the use of some important words. Try to spell the words of this unit. Then ask students to make up a story using the new word of this unit, try to use as many words as possible.
Teaching and learning steps
Step 1 Learn to read the words of Unit 4
1. First ask the students to try to read the new words in this unit according to the phonetics by themselves and underline the words that they can’t pronounce. (找本单元不会读的单词)
2. Then give them a few minutes to deal with the problems they have in their pronunciation in groups. (小组讨论如何根据音标读单词。)
3. Next, get some students to read the new words to the class. After that ask some students to correct the mistakes.
4. Finally, get the students to read the words following the tape. (纠正发音)
Step 2 : Learn to remember words of Unit 4.
一、Remember the words by looking at pictures.
the dishes 清洗餐具
make (one’s) bed 铺床
dirty 脏的
kitchen 厨房
dish 碟;盘
(展示图片让学生站起来抢答单词并拼写第一名+1计入小组量化二. Remember the words by conversion,complex words and derivative.out +side outside 在外边,外面的

lucky幸运的 luck 幸运;运气
三、Remember the words by their similar forms.
nightring / sing bring 带来
sheep keep 保持;保留
hear wear 穿;戴

head read 阅读
(相似结构对比,联想记忆。)
四. Remember the words by their Chinese.
(由于本组单词比较难,让学生尽量去记忆,强调首先记住汉语意思,再记拼写。)
Step 3 Consolidation of words
Give the students a few minutes to try to memorize the words first. Then get them to work in pairs to spell the words or write down the words with the Chinese given in Zhuxue. Underline the words they haven’t grasped. Then correct the mistakes.
The teacher can also give some important words and get the students to try to have a short dictation.
