They are eager to take part in class activities and keen on presenting their opinions individually, which is a good quality for English study. Teaching aims and demands: 1. Language aims: a. To enable students to know about the scientist: Yuan Longping b. To introduce organic farming and green food To know the main idea of the reading passage 2. Emotion and Attitude aims: a. To encourage students to challenge themselves and be unselfish b To lead the students to discover the problems that human beings are facing besides food shortage so that they can have the proper attitude to the problems Teaching tools: a computer, a tape recorder Teaching procedures: Step1. Revision Review grammar “gerunds” by looking at a proverb: Seeing is believing. Review some verbs that are followed by gerunds and students are asked to list some of them.
