In 2004, AECT defines educational technology as follows:” education technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources.” The term educational technology is often associated with, and encompasses, instructional theory and learning theory. While instructional technology covers the processes and systems of learning and instruction, educational technology also includes other systems used in the process of developing human capability. Quantitative Research Method Quantitative research is very traditional and is adopted from the natural sciences. It relies on the belief or assumption that our world and the claims about it are not considered meaningful unless they can be verified through direct observation. Quantitative methods tend to gather numerical data. School Technology Coordinator It is the fastest-growing specialty. Regardless of the quality and sophistication of computer hardware software success of technology often depends on the support and encouragement that students and teachers receive in using it. Technology Coordinators can assist with planning, selecting software and hardware, consulting on purchases, implementing, and supervising maintenance and repair.
