Who is Su Dongpo? His name is Su Shi. We can also call him Su Dongpo. He is one of the most outstanding poets in Song Dynasty. In China, even a 7-year-old child can recite his poem. Yizhou Pavilion Yizhou means that Dongpo stopped here and got off the boat. In 1073, Dongpo went to Zhenjiang. When he arrived in Changzhou, he wrote a poem. There are two antithetical couplets on it. It can be called Dongpo-xiyan Lake because Dongpo usually whshed his inkstone in this pool. It was originally located in the Sun’s House where Dongpo spent his later years and planted a wisteria himself. In 1757,the pool was moved here when Emperor Qianlong paid his second inspection tour in Southern Yangtze region. It is 1 meter long, 0.5 meter wide and 0.5 meter high. * Introduction It covers an area of 4.3 hectares . The park consists of a peninsula surrounded by water on three sides and the Half Moon Island along the Grand Canal. The two islands were connected with the old bridge built in Ming Dynasty . Origin Su Dongpo had ever been to Changzhou for 11 times. And he also died in Changzhou. It was in the park that Dongpo landed . So we call it Dongpo Park. How to get there Dongpo Park is located in the eastern part of Changzhou. Take Bus 302, and you can get off at Suning Dianqi Station.
