Exposition means expounding or explaining. An expository paper explains or explores something.E.g. the process of making a machine; the causes of phenomenon; the planning of a project; the solution of a problem二、语言特点 ★ 英语说明文的语言要清晰、流畅、具有逻辑性。 e.g. The Mid-autumn Festival, also called the Moon Festival, is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. It is on August 15, in the Chinese calendar, when, in the evening, the moon is supposed to be quite round. It is a festival for family reunions. ★ 时态相对较为统一：多用现在时态。 e.g. Many successful people say that they owe much of their success to the cultivation of certain good habits in early life. In forming good habits. I think we should pay attention to four things， that is， honesty， industry， enthusiasm and thrift . ★ 采用客观表述，避免主观色彩 e.g.：I think that getting up late is not always a bad thing. × It is said that getting up late is not always a bad thing. √　1、下定义（definition） Definition is a method to explain a term that may have various denotative or connotative meanings or shades of meaning . The term is usually abstract, ambiguous or controversial.e.g. Ambition means the goal in our life. To have one’s ambition does not necessarily mean to become one of the chief state leaders. This is not the real sense of the word. True ambition encourages us always to look forward and not to lose hope in face of failure. Ambition differs from person to person and everyone has his own ambition. 2、举例子（Illustration）。 Illustration is the use of detailed and concrete examples to explain an abstract point, and to persuade or convince the reader.e.g. Americans value manual labor. They have gre
