The Comparison of affixes between English and Chinese words
Abstract: This article from affixes of word-formation between Chinese and English languages .Analysis the classification of word-formation characteristics and corresponding relationships. Identify the similarities and differences between English and Chinese words, so as to promote vocabulary learning well and understanding of both languages.

1 Introduction
English is a morphologic language. Words in the vocabulary are composed of root and affixes. Affixes are attached to words or word elements to modify meaning or function. All affixes are bound morpheme, because few can be used as independent words. According to the functions of affixes .we can put them into two groups: inflectional and derivational affixes. Affixes can be further classified in terms of position and their function .Along the dimension of position , we may have prefixes ,suffixes and infixes.
Different from English, morpheme constituted by a single syllable in Chinese and have no morphological changes. Chinese morpheme is actually Chinese word, which originate from the ancient Chinese It is a combination of “phone-form-meaning”. In the vast majority of Chinese words are formed by the root.
