At present, there is a certain gap in automation level between domestic paper industries and abroad. So design of papermaking system is crucial to the paper industry. There is a paper machine control system based on PLC has been designed in this paper. In the system, we use the S7-300 PLC as the control core, the ABB converter as drive unit, three-phase AC motor as execution unit. By PLC through the communication between Profibus-DP network and inverter to complete every transmission point start, stop, acceleration, deceleration, tight etc. And the development process of domestic and international paper industry also introduced in this paper, papermaking machine according to the system control requirements to determine the control scheme.
