Cosmo: What are your most guarded fitness secrets?
Yasmin Karachiwala: “Being fit is not a mystery. Anyone can be fit, have the perfect bikini body or six pack abs. It’s all a matter of how badly you want it, and what you’re prepared to do to get it. My approach with clients is for them to be clear about their goals. And my role is to discover the ‘secret’formula that will work for them.”
C: Name some basics every trainer believes in...
YK: “Start with a good warm up, identify the correct exercises for your goals and body type, maintain a balance between cardio, strength and flexibility, eat smart and take adequate rest.”
C: What do you love about training celebrities?
YK: “When I train a celebrity for a certain result and they achieve their goals, I get a massive high because I have enabled them to reach their destination!”
C: What’s the best way to stick to a fitness plan?
YK: “Make up your mind, identify your goals, get someone to train and educate you on how you can achieve it. Then stick to the plan, no matter what.”
C: What kind of workouts do you enjoy doing?
YK: “I love to run and I love Pilates. But I enjoy other types of exercise as well. For me, it is all about mixing up routines to sustain my interest and fitness goals―so some days I do suspension training, other days it is functional training, or then it could be kettle bells.”

Cosmo: What is it like being a celebrity fitness trainer?
Radhika Karle: “It’s a challenge, though one I sincerely enjoy. Working out with tight schedules means early morning or late night workouts (once as late as 10:30pm).”
C: What are some of the challenges involved?
RK: “Travelling with a celebrity is part and parcel of the gig, and many a time it’s to places where there may not even be a gym. You have to use your imagination―functional training using your
