C. 表示人口多少要用large与small来修饰，而不能用very与few来修饰。 Japan has a smaller population than China. D. population 作主语时，谓语可以用单数，也可以用复数，指一个地区或国家的整体人口时，谓语动词通常用单数；强调整体人口中的成员时，谓语动词通常用复数。 The population of Beijing is larger than that of Nanjing.
