* Section A (1a-1c) 新集中学 关成友 Status and roles This section centers on traveling. Students learn to talk about places they would like to visit. It is based on talking about Ss’ favorite things, like music in Unit6 (I like music that I can dance to). Also it’s an extend- ing for the previous unit. It’s good for making Ss’ own traveling plan. 2. Teaching Key points Difficult point Key points: Items of description words Make one’s own traveling plan Difficult points: Make one’s own traveling plan Language goals: Key vocabulary: (such as tiring, educational, peaceful, etc.) Target language: --Where would you like to visit? --I’d like to……. Ability goals: Train Ss’ four skills. Plan one’s own vacation. Morality goals: While planning vacation, Ss learn to love nature a lot. Task-based Teaching Method. (Main) Five-Stepped Teaching Method. (Secondary) I’ll use Five-Stepped teaching method to present knowledge. I’ll design four tasks to improve Ss’ four skills. Like these: Task1: Show pictures of places of interest and describe them Task2: Talk about the places they’d like to visit. Task3: Listen and fill in the chart. (1b) Task4: Make a survey about one’s traveling plan. As for the tasks, I’ll try to create an authentic situation and competence air by means of multimedia. Arouse Ss’ interests and make them acquire knowledge during a series of activities. Finally, I’ll have Ss make a survey to consolidate knowledge and improve abilities. 1. Warming-up Ask and answer: --Where have you been? --I have been…… --What do you think of it? --It’s …… 2. Presentation. (Task 1) 1). Show some pictures of places of interest. 2).
