But this is not the case in the US film series Night at the Museum, a series in which exhibits come to life when the sun goes down at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.The movies have been such a success that ever since the release of the first film in 2006, people have been sleeping over at the museum to find out what will happen at night, Entertainment Weekly magazine reported.Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, the third movie in the series, came out in China on Jan 4. Once again, the film follows the museum’s night security guard Larry Daley, who knows that everything comes to life every night. He is now running The Night Program, a show put on by exhibits brought to magical life, which is made to look like a visual effects performance. However, during an important show the magical figures begin behaving very strangely, nearly causing disaster.Daley and his exhibit friends – a cowboy, a Roman emperor, and former US president Teddy Roosevelt – investigate (调查) the accident. They find that the Golden Tablet of Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Akhmenrah – which brings the exhibits to life – is disappearing, breaking the magic spell. The only person who knows how to use the tablet is Akhmenrah’s father, Pharaoh Merenkahre, who is an exhibit at London’s British Museum.So Daley and his friends travel all the way to London. But once they are there, they have to deal with a difficult night guard who won’t let them stay at the museum after dark. In addition, the British Museum’s exhibits are confused about why they are suddenly alive.There is a lot to do in one night, because if the Golden Tablet isn’t fixed by the next day, all of the amazing things its magic brings to the American Museum of Natural History will be lost forever.
