Step 1 Lead-in (about 2 minutes)
Duty report (before class let the student on duty prepare a report with it, thus leading to the topic today, which is to review the use of “it”.)
T: Which word can you hear most frequently appear in her report?
Ss: It.
T: Yes. It?s ?it?. Today we are going to go over the use of ?it?. Are you familiar with ?it??
Ss: Yes.
T: Do you think ?it? is the same in different situations?
Ss: Yes./No.
T: Some say?Yes?,some say?No?,so not all of you are sure about the use of ?it?.But don?t worry. Today I will show you the exact answer. According to the different characteristics and uses, ?it? can be divided into 4 groups. To impress you deeply, I name the 4-colored itit it it?(pronounced /green it/ /blue: it/ /red it/ ?respectively)(Meanwhile open the slide and show the Ss 4 cartoon characters together with 4-colored ?itit it it.) First,I?d like you to meet it.
Step 2 Reviewing it(about 4-5 minutes)
I act as it to have a short self-introduction. (showing it on the screen)
T(it):Hi, I?m it, an impersonal pronoun .Do you know what I can refer to? Do you know me ?
Ss: No.
