谢谢！ .ph P.Rivera@.ph 菲律宾共和国 菲律宾统计局 * In September 2013, the President approved Republic Act No. 10625 – An Act Reorganizing the Philippine Statistical System, which abolished the former BAS, BLES, NSCB and NSO, and established the PSA. The establishment of the new PSA is aimed at reducing redundancies in government statistical data collection and production and facilitate integration of information among the four former MSAs for the generation of indicators in time for policy- and decision-making in the government and in the private sector. The PSA is an attached agency of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and is comprised of the PSA Board and PSA Technical Offices on sectoral statistics, censuses and technical coordination, civil registration and central support and field statistical services. As the central statistical authority of the Philippine government on primary data collection, the PSA is guided by the PSA Board – an interagency committee that provides direction to the PSS and recommendations to address the various concerns on official statistics matters. * The establishment of the PSA provided an opportunity to gear the PSS in a unified and harmonized direction towards better quality statistics and revisit the efficiency in statistical operations in the country. Section 6 of RA 10625 mandates the PSA to prepare the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP) in consultation with the PSA Board. * The PSDP sets the directions, thrusts and priorities of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) for the medium term for the generation and dissemination of statistical information used in policy and decision-making. As a companion document of the Philippine Development Plan, the PSDP identifies priority statistical development activities to address the data requirements of the medium-term national development plan.
