Thoughts on the design:
Project是本单元的第八课时,以读、讲、练、小组合作为主。Project的教学应当读的过程兼顾指导小组合作,同时,还应解决读中遇到的新的语言现象并辅以练习。首先,利用这篇读的材料培养学生的寻找信息的能力,其次,帮助分析这篇影评的写作形式、结构、语言等,从而掌握写影评的方法和策略;借助学生对电影的喜爱激发学习写影评的积极性,同时提升对电影的审美观。
Teaching aims:
目标陈述要具体,从学生学习的角度陈述。采用以下行文方式:
1. After learning the given film review, the students will be able to know what is a film review and how to prepare to write one;
2. After learning the language points in the passage, the students will be able to deal with exercises which focus on them;
3. After the teacher’s instruction, the students will be able to know how to cooperate with their group members to write a film review well.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in (PPT4—5)
(Play the short TV program) How many Harry Potter films have been produced? And which is your favorite?
(Play part of the 7th film: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) What do you think of this film, compared with the others?
播放文件夹中第一个电视节目视频,通过两个问题导出本文的主题,同时激发学生浓厚的兴趣;然后播放哈里?波特第七部部分内容,让学生对这篇影评有个背景的了解,并产生自己对影片的评价。
Step 2 First reading (PPT6)

Part 1: Para.1~3 brief introduction of the film’s plot.
Part 2: Para.4~5 the writer’s commentary on the special effects and acting in the film.
Part 3: Para. 6~7 problems of the film.
Part 4: Para.8 recommendation by the writer.
Step 3 Second reading (PPT7)
