Knowledge aim To learn some useful words and expressions. To understand and use the past continuous with some adverbial clauses ( when and while) . Ability aim To get some specific information after listening. To talk about what was happening at a specific time. Emotional aim To know how to avoid accidents. To know how to cooperate with others in each group 四、Teaching important points: By the end of the lesson , students should be able to 1) get specific information after listening. 2) know something about the past continuous with some adverbial clauses and express what was happening at a specific time. 3) understand the meanings and some usage of the new words and phrases in unit1. 五、Teaching difficult points: 1) How to guide students to get specific information from a conversation. 2) How to help students make and speak the past continuous with some adverbial clauses.(when, while) 3) How to guide students to understand the usage of the new words and phrases in unit1. 六、Teaching method: Interactive approach; top-down and bottom-up model; communicative teaching method. 七、Teaching aids: Blackboard, PPT and some pictures. 八、Teaching procedures: Step1:Warming up 1. Require students to look at the pictures and do some exercise to have a review of the past continuous past. 2. Guide students to pay attention to the adverbial of time in each sentence. 3. Invite some students to show their ideas. 4. Ask students some questions and show a short video for them. 5.
